2018 Official MSCCA Standings

Coaches met on November 10, 2018 at the Hampton Inn in Smyrna to discuss matters pertinent to the MSCCA for the 2019 Season.

The following items were discussed and/or voted on in relationship to the MSCCA for the 2019 season.

1. Discussed the 2019 Schedule. The XC season as it relates to the 2019 Calendar contains one less week (11). Additionally, the first date of contest is not until August 19th. As a result some meets will have a different week or date than in the previous 2-3 years. Here are important dates for the MSCCA as we know them now.

Voyles Classic - August 31 - The Hermitage
MSCCA Championships - October 12 - Buckner Park
Regional Meets must be finished by October 26
TMSSA Middle TN Qualifier(Riverdale HS) - September 28
TMSSA State Meet - October 5
TSSAA State Meet - November 2

Chicasaw Trails - September 7
Jesse Owens - October 5

2. Discussed the Voyles Classic and MSCCA Championships. Both races will remain in the same locations and format as 2018. Varsity races will include all MSCCA divisions. There will again be JV races.
3. Co-Director Stephen Williams provided information on the possibility on providing chip timing for the Voyles and Championships at an affordable cost for the upcoming season with an increase in the season fees.
4. Voted to use chip timing for the Voyles Classic and MSCCA Championships.
5. Voted to increase the season fees to help cover the cost of chip timing by up to, but not more than $50.00 per school. The directors will make a determination on the proper additional season fee to cover the cost.
6. It was also voted to assess an extra $1.00 per runner fee for schools that register more than 40 runners at the Voyles and/or MSCCA championships.
7. Voted to increase the number of honorees in the AAA division from 21 to 24. AA will remain at 14 and A will remain at 7.
